Once the Photos I’ve done for class are released, I will be building an online portfolio right here on the site! It’s going to be a little scary putting it all out there like that, but I hope any rookie mistakes will be forgiven, and that I will grow a lot from these first few.
The photos in the new gallery will be in black and white and developed from actual 35 mm film. Then they’ll be scanned in. The process is both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. You have no idea what the shot will look like when it comes through this (comparatively) time consuming process. My photograms and first abstract seem promising, but then I’m an amateur right now, so what do I know? The professor said it was good, and it got full marks, but again who really knows?
So as always, your comments and critiques are welcome and most appreciated.
Well, Bags are packed, and First thing in the morning, I leave for Osage County, off to wildlife adventure! You’ll be able to read all about it soon, in the Green Country Guardian, when the premier online issue comes out in September. I’m very excited to get to help out with a project I feel has so much potential to help bring together green country’s eco-community. I can’t wait to see what all is inside! There are a few of us who have tried something like this before, but these guys are really pulling hard to get this one off the ground.
I look forward to lots of great wildlife and scenic shots of some of Green Country’s beautiful borderlands, and lots of inspiration for writing. See y’all soon!
Well, having taken most of my initial creative writing classes, I am ready to start photography and art this semester when school starts. In late August, I will pack up my new toy (camera) and go to school to learn how to make it work its magic. Then it’s off to art class to learn to play with other new toys. I hope to get the basics down pat and be able to start creating images to go with my writing. It’s not possible to express how excited I am.
Other than that, it’s History and government (Govt…bleh), content editing and writing. Oh, and all the mundane stuff we have to do to exist. It’s gonna be a blast!
